Pawground Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 31, 2026

1. Introduction

Pawground ("the App") respects your privacy. This policy explains how the App handles information.

The short version: there is no server, and the developer never receives your information. There are no accounts and no passwords. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone.

Two things do leave the device:

2. Collection of personal information

The App does not collect names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, or anything similar on a server. There is no server, and no developer-managed database exists.

The following is stored on your device only:

None of this leaves the device. The App does not sync to iCloud, so nothing carries over to another device.

3. Use of location

The App uses your location to fetch the weather where you are. Which hours are safe to walk depends on the weather at that place on that day and on how the ground heats up. Without a location, there is no judgment to make.

4. Apple's weather service

The App gets its weather data from Apple's WeatherKit (Apple Weather). To do that, the coordinates of the place being looked up are sent to Apple.

For how Apple handles information, please see the Apple Privacy Policy.

5. Network use

The App talks only to the Apple services above and to Google's ad delivery described in Section 6. Nothing is sent to a developer server.

The App keeps the forecast it fetched on the device, so the day's judgment, walk recording, and the seven-second test all keep working with no signal. A walk is often where the signal is worst. The screen always shows the time the weather was fetched.

6. Advertising

Starting with version 1.1, the App shows ads using Google AdMob, Google's ad service — a banner at the bottom of the screen, and occasionally a full-screen ad when you close certain screens.

To show ads and measure how they perform, Google may receive information such as:

The App does not give Google your location, your dog's details, your walk records, your routes, or your seven-second test answers.

No ads are shown while you have Premium.

The App never asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. As a result, the advertising identifier (IDFA) used to track you across other companies' apps and websites is not used for ads.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or similar regions, the App asks, through Google's consent tool, whether your information may be used for advertising. You can change your answer at any time from the App's About screen.

For how Google handles information, please see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

The App embeds no analytics tools. The developer does not sell or provide your information to third parties.

If the App crashes and "Share iPhone Analytics" is enabled in your device settings, technical records such as where the crash occurred may reach the developer through Apple. This is a standard iOS mechanism, and it contains neither what you entered nor your location. It can be turned off under Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

7. In-app purchases

Starting with version 1.2, the App offers Premium, an auto-renewing subscription. Purchases, renewals and cancellations are handled by Apple (the App Store), and the developer never receives your payment details. The App only checks with Apple, on the device, whether your subscription is active.

Routes you recorded are kept even after your subscription ends.

There is no sign-up.

8. Deleting your data

9. Disclaimer

What the App gives you is an estimate and a judgment based on weather data. It does not measure the ground temperature.

At the same hour in the same town, the ground varies from spot to spot — sun and shade, asphalt against concrete against soil, how the wind runs, where the buildings throw their shadows. The App does not see any of that.

That is why the App includes a way to hold the back of your hand on the ground and see whether you can bear it for seven seconds — the check that vets recommend. Do it on the spot, before you set off. If it disagrees with the App, trust your hand.

The App does not publish weather forecasts. What it reports is a walking judgment and the hours it applies to; it is not intended for use as weather information in its own right.

If something seems wrong with your dog, please consult a veterinarian regardless of what the App says.

Except where liability is imposed by law, the developer accepts no liability for damages arising from use of the App.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may change as laws change or as the App is updated. Significant changes will also be announced inside the App.
